Luckily, we stopped in a thrift store on our way home and found a few of the older Daredevil comics! I had gone in to sell a couple of my more recent Hulk issues (that I will never attempt to read again), and since they were giving me store credit, I decided to look around. I didn't have a lot of time because my son was with me, and a three-year old does not have the longest attention span. However, I always check DD first since it's one of my husband's favorites. DD and TMNT, of course.
If you get comics every week (or even randomly), and would like to participate, just leave a link to your post in the comments. ๐
Awesome haul!!
ReplyDeleteI downloaded a few freebies from amazon a few weeks ago - Ms. Marvel Volume two and maybe Thor?? I don't remember lol but I haven't had time to read them yet.
ReplyDeleteFor What It's Worth
I read Thor #700 today AND IT WAS SO GOOD. There was a lot going on, but it explains a lot for those of us who haven't been reading it up until now.
DeleteI love comics but I always wait to read the graphic novels because I like to read them in order. Do you have a problem reading them out of order? And do you have any idea where I can find the individual comics?
ReplyDeleteOf course! Midtown Comics (http://www.midtowncomics.com/) is a great place to get older comics, and for a really reasonable price. You can also check local comic book stores, or even book stores. People sell their old comics to places like Half Price Books and various thrift stores. It's pretty easy to find them for a decent price.
DeleteI don't normally like to read them out of order, but I will to determine if it's a comic I want to start reading (and find all of the older issues for).
Good news! Marvel just started doing Legacy issues. You should be able to start any of their comics on a Legacy issue without feeling lost. You can start there and pull it every week/month while you look for older issues. For example, I have never read Thor, but I got the most recent one (#700). It was a Legacy issue and did a little recap, but also gave the comic a new starting point. I didn't feel lost at all, and I enjoyed it enough to want to keep reading it and look for older issues.
If you have any more questions, or want to discuss it in more detail, feel free to email me at doyoudogear(at)gmail(dot)com. :)
I can't wait for The Punisher to start on Netflix later this month. I love the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as well!
ReplyDeleteIt looks amazing! I never thought I would get past Jon Bernthal playing Shane on The Walking Dead, but he is an incredible Frank Castle! We're big fans of all the Marvel shows on Netflix. Also, TMNT will forever be awesome.
DeleteDo you read TMNT, or watch it online?
