It's the last issue of Rogue & Gambit! I've loved watching these two together. There is a lot of history between them, and most of it is brought to the surface during these five issues. They're forced to confront their feelings and see things from a different perspective (hah). It really has been a lot of fun to read!
Astonishing X-Men is up in the air for me at the moment. The last issue was super weird and really deviated from the rest of the comic. I'm not sure if that was a fluke or if this is a new direction for the story. Whatever it was... I didn't really like it. I honestly thought I should have been on drugs while reading it, because it was that trippy. Even the artwork was psychedelic and all over the place. And I understand why it made sense, but it just wasn't my cup of tea.
Wolverine is back (from the dead, I think) and missing (maybe). As you can see, I really don't know much about this one or why it's called Hunt for Wolverine Weapon Lost. There is another one called Hunt for Wolverine, and this is somehow related to that...
Okay, per Jacob: There are going to be four limited series under the title Hunt for Wolverine. The Hunt for Wolverine I posted last week was a one-shot (single issue), and there will be four other titles with roughly four issues each. Hunt for Wolverine Weapon Lost is one of the four. Phew.
You Are Deadpool is another limited series, but it's going to be like one of those Choose Your Own Adventure books. Basically, you are Deadpool and make most of the decisions. Your decisions will affect the outcome of the story. Awesome, right?
Do any of these look interesting to you? Who is your favorite Marvel character? Have you seen the new Avengers movie? (If you have, please do not spoil it for me. Thanks! I was curious how many people have already watched it and what they thought.)
Now I wanna see that psychedelic comic ;)
ReplyDeleteAstonishing X-Men! There are a lot of psychics involved, so we get to see a few weird headspaces. Also, the Astral Plane! It really did get too trippy during the last issue... I was having a hard time following the illustrations. Everything started to smoosh together.
DeleteWe saw Infinity War, and it surpassed every expectation I had - I am practically speechless!
ReplyDeleteGood to know! I cannot wait to see it for myself! One of my kickboxing instructors always threatens to spoil the movie (says it's his favorite thing to do), and I said I would kick him in his face if he ruined Avengers for me. ;)
DeleteAw! I just love seeing Rogue and Gambit kiss! I saw Infinity War last night. I had issues with it but I always have something to complain about. ;)
ReplyDeleteThey kiss A LOT in this mini series, which was always amazing. I love their chemistry and past/present relationships. What's the acronym? OTP?
DeleteWhen I finally watch Avengers, I'll remember to ask you what your issues were!
I think I would be intrigued to try Deadpool
ReplyDeleteI'm curious about this one, too. I want to know how they're going to make it so it's personalized to the individual and provides different experiences/outcomes.
DeleteI haven't read comics in many years :( but that 'choose your own adventure' Deadpool comic looks cool!
ReplyDeleteI thought so! We'll see how it goes once I actually read it. :)
DeleteIf you want to get back into comics, or just look at a few for fun, Saturday is FREE COMIC BOOK DAY! Look up a local comic shop in your area and see what they're doing.
That Rogue and Gambit cover had my romance loving heart all giddy!
ReplyDeleteI know!! I love them together! They're story has been short, but a lot has happened. :)
DeleteLove that Deadpool cover!
ReplyDeleteI'm curious about the dragon/monster/thing in the background!
