Phew! That was a lot of comics for two weeks! I'm sorry I haven't been around. After moving and settling in, our computer decided to crash. I tried blogging from the iPad, but it was too frustrating. We finally got our computer back, so here I am! I'll try to do a lot of blog-hopping over the next few days, because I really want to see what books you've been reading! I've felt so disconnected! Clearly blogging is an addiction, or maybe it's just the books?
I'm really enjoying Firefly, and cannot wait to read the newest issue! Shades of Magic The Steel Prince is ending this week, and I'm curious how Schwab plans to wrap everything up. There's a lot going on! Finally, Domino. I'm still not a fan of the realistic covers -- aargh. I was really hoping they'd revert back to the original artwork.
Jacob's pull is insane! I don't know when he's going to find the time to read all of these... I'm considering Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, because I adore Tom Taylor! He's written some of my favorite comics (All-New Wolverine, X-Men Red), and I'm interested in seeing his take on Spider-Man.
Can't Wait Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings, that highlights upcoming releases that we're anticipating and excited to read. It's a spinoff of the feature Waiting on Wednesday that was hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.
Cold Day in the Sun by Sara Biren

I love how simple the synopsis is: intriguing yet vague!
Happy reading everyone! I have a lot of reviews to write, and I'm looking forward to sharing my thoughts with you. I just have to find the time to catch up! <3

Oh Cold Day in the Sun sounds cute!!! Great pick!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I stumbled across it yesterday and though it would be perfect for this post. <3
DeleteCongrats on all the books and I hope when you get a copy of Cold Day in the Sun you love it!
ReplyDelete*fingers crossed* I don't think I've ever read a book about a female hockey player! It sounds like it'll be a lot of fun. :)
DeleteI've always liked books with snow on the covers for some reason- they're so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI love reading snowy books, because I rarely get to experience it for myself. ;)
DeleteMaybe we need blogging addicts anonymous? If I don't have time to blog or visit a few blogs during the day it irritates me. lol So glad your got your computer back.
ReplyDeleteI felt twitchy, haha! I have the Bloglovin' App on my iPad, but it's so difficult to comment on there. It was even more challenging trying to write a review, so I decided to just wait until our computer was fixed. Now I feel like I'll never catch back up!
DeleteI just saw this book for the first time the other day. Really sounds excellent!
ReplyDeleteI hope it lives up to the synopsis! :)
Deleteyay many comics! I can understand that it's difficult whitout computer!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I realized how often I used the computer for everyday tasks! I also like to sit down and do blogging stuff once the kids are asleep, and it bothered me when I couldn't. See? Blogging addict! ;)
DeleteI can definitely see Holland getting frozen out (no pun intended LOL) by her team once the media spotlight is all about her. Sounds like a good one!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure there were people that disliked her being on the team from the start, so the attention would only make it worse. At least the team captain is on her side! ;)
DeleteI very much enjoyed Biren's debut, and am so excited to read this one too.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read her debut! I'm going to check and see if my library has a copy. Thanks, Sam! <3
DeleteSorry to hear about your computer crashing! Hopefully you can still enjoy all these wonderful comics! and yes!blogging is totally an addiction! XD A good one I hope! :)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a good one! Right now I'm trying to catch up on all the reviews I missed, so the comics are taking a backseat. Must. Catch. Up. Haha!
DeleteYeah I'm not super crazy about that Domino cover either. Longshot though huh? At least I think that's him? I kinda used to hate Longshot but I guess I don't mind him so much now. His power is kinda cool, and now that I've read Vol. 1 it seems like Dom's power is very similar?
ReplyDeleteI actually have no idea who Longshot is -- haha! I'll have to Google him a little later. :)
DeleteHe's alright I guess. He was involved with Dazzler for a while, if I remember, back when they were in the X-Men (her bright blue costume phase, I think).
DeleteI'm starting to think everyone was involved with Dazzler at some point... ;)
DeleteI'm dying to read the Shades of Magic comic books. Everything Schwab touches I need to get my hands on. =P I'm so sorry about your laptop - technology loves crashing when they're most needed. Cold Day in the Sun seems such a fluffy read. I hope you enjoy it when it comes out.
ReplyDeleteHappy readings! ;)

I'm so behind on my Schwab books! Have you read The Near Witch? It was the first book I read by her! I haven't read any of her newer stuff, but I definitely will! Didn't one of books win a Goodreads award last year? The comic has been amazing! <3
DeleteIt was our desktop computer, so everyone used it! We don't have a TV, so I would sometimes play Netflix or PBS for the kiddos. We were all sad to be without a working computer, haha.
I'm waiting on the release of the first bind-up of The Steel Prince (which comes out in February) to read it, but I am really enjoying seeing the covers as the volumes come out!
ReplyDeleteYay! Aren't they amazing? I hope you love it! :)
DeleteCold Day in the Sun looks really good.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to reading it! :)
DeleteI don’t read many comics, but I love VE Schwab and her Shades of Magic series. I’ll probably pick up those comics eventually.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
I believe they're a prequel to the series... but I could be wrong. I think it supposed to give you a little backstory on one of the characters (but I still need to read the actual book series). :)
DeleteCold Day in the Sun sounds like the cutest book ever! I haven't even seen it around but I can't wait to read your review when it releases!

I hope it's as good as it sounds! :)
