Jacob stumbled across Oliver last night, and it sounded like something we'd both enjoy! "OLIVER re-imagines Charles Dickens' most famous orphan as a post-apocalyptic superhero fighting to liberate a war-ravaged England while searching for the truth about his own mysterious origins." Also, that cover is awesome! I still haven't read the first issue of Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, but I plan on getting to it soon. Moving impacts more than your location! We're behind on everything.

DeleteHope everyone had fun at Legoland. :) They Year They Fell sounds excellent. Heartbreaking for sure but still excellent.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what sort of secrets their parents were keeping, and if that had anything to do with them dying at the same time. It seems odd that they would all be on a plane at the same time! I already have so many questions, and it's just the synopsis.

ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed some Spider-Man comics in the past, but I LOVE Tom Taylor! I'm really excited to see what he does with Peter Parker. It's a character that has been written about for years, and it's always interesting to see what changes or additions people make. Everyone has their own spin!

I'm curious how the children will interact after all these years (and see where they're living after their parents die), but I'm also wondering what secrets their parents were keeping. It seems weird that they would all be on the same plane at the same time.
DeleteThat Oliver art is pretty snazzy! And I'm curious about the new Guardians of the Galaxy- I was just looking at an article somewhere the other day about the new line up.
ReplyDeleteI think "snazzy" is a wonderful way to describe that cover! Yes, Jacob is really excited about the new Guardians of the Galaxy. We still don't know who died and who the replacement is going to be, although there are a lot of covers with Star Lord and Groot on the front. I'm assuming that means the two of them are okay, but it's likely one of the others is dead. Who do you think the new team member is going to be? Who do you think died?

Interesting! Thanks for sharing that! The spoilers don't bother me, because I wasn't planning on reading it, haha. I did want to know who died though, and I was curious about the new team. It's insane! Jacob mentioned that Rocket was all over the place and drinking a lot, but he doesn't know why. I never thought he would leave Groot! They make the best team. :(
ReplyDeleteI know Gamora was responsible for folding the universe together (which is where the combined character issues came from, like Spider-Man/Moon Knight becoming Arachknight).

DeleteOh wow see I really am out of the loop! Although I think I remember you discussing those combo issues now that I think about it. I hope they don't ruin Groot! And I'm not sure what I think of Moondragon but Phylla-Vell might be cool, related as she is to the old Capt. Marvel. They've really changed the team!
DeleteI only read the Spider-Man/Moon Knight combo, but there were A LOT. Groot looks...evil? Angry? Scary? At least on the one cover! I'm not familiar with anyone on the new team (with the exception of Groot and Star Lord). I'm a little miffed Rocket wasn't there, because he's sense of humor was one of my favorite things. I also love his relationship with Groot.
