Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #3 by Tom Taylor, Juan Cabal, Andrew Robinson
Miles Morales Spider-Man #3 by Saladin Ahmed, Javi Garron, Marco D'Alfonso
Jacob's comics for the week!
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Urban Legends by Gary Carlson, Frank Fosco, Kevin Eastman
Guardians of the Galaxy #2 by Donny Cates, Geoff Shaw, David Marquez
Hulkverines #1 (of 3) by Greg Pak, Ario Anindito, Greg Land
Venom #11 by Donny Cates, Ryan Stegman
I'm really enjoying both of these Spider-Man comics! It's clear Tom Taylor has a knack for Peter Parker, and Saladin Ahmed is perfect for Miles Morales. He's constantly surprising a laugh out of me, and having Miles say things that are both relevant and hilarious. He's just a kid in this comic, and it's nice to see him acting like one. Curfews, school , fighting crime at night -- all normal teenage behaviors.
Can't Wait Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings, that highlights upcoming releases that we're anticipating and excited to read. It's a spinoff of the feature Waiting on Wednesday that was hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.
Repeat by Kylie Scott
Expected publication: April 7th 2019

When a vicious attack leaves 25-year-old Clementine Johns with no memory, she's forced to start over. Now she has to figure out who she was and why she made the choices she did - which includes leaving the supposed love of her life, tattoo artist Ed Larsen, only a month before.
Ed can hardly believe it when his ex shows up at his tattoo parlor with no memory of their past, asking about the breakup that nearly destroyed him. The last thing he needs is more heartache, but he can't seem to let her go again. Should they walk away for good, or does their love deserve a repeat performance?
I l-o-v-e-d Kylie Scott's Stage Dive series, and Repeat sounds like it's going to be just as amazing (and potentially heartbreaking)!

Wow, Repeat sounds so good and now I'm SUPER curious about it!
ReplyDeleteThat's why I love this feature! It brings attention to books we're anticipating, and requires very little effort to do so. Now we're all adding more books to our TBRs -- yay! ;)
DeleteRepeat does sound like it will be a very emotional read!
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed Kylie Scott's books in the past, and I'm afraid this one is going to make me cry! What would you do if the person you loved forgot why they left? Would you tell them the truth from the beginning, or try to make amends for something they don't remember? Complicated!
DeleteI'm curious about the new Guardians of the Galaxy and how that's going. Also Saladin Ahmed did a really good job on the Black Bolt series, so I'd be interested in reading more of his stuff for sure.
ReplyDeleteI cannot do anymore Guardians of the Galaxy, Thanos, or Avengers. I need a break! They're everywhere these days, haha. And not like how Spider-Man is always around, but there seems to be an abundance of those three things. The Miles Morales comic is amazing! Ahmed even touches on immigration and the children being separated from their families at the border. It's on point! I love it!
DeleteI'm so done with Thanos. And the avengers are ridiculous now- they're doing like a Stone Age Avengers or 1 Million BC avengers or whatever and I'm like- psssh. So dumb. It's like how they did the X-Men to death back in the 90's when there were like 312 X-Men titles.
DeleteStone Age Avengers? Why?? Aargh! If they keep making more, it means someone is reading them, haha. Yes! X-Men was really overplayed back in the day. I think that's why my husband has such negative feelings about their comics. I'm really picky when it comes to anything X-Men, which is why Uncanny X-Men didn't work for me. X-Men Red and All New Wolverine by Tom Taylor were great, and Kelly Thompson's run on Rogue and Gambit, but I think I got lucky with those. :)
DeleteI have had good success with Kylie Scott, and I am sure I will be reading this one as well.
ReplyDeleteHave you read her Stage Dive series? It's the only thing I've read, but I really want to read the others! What would you suggest I start with?
DeleteOh, I love the sound of Repeat! I'm adding that to my TBR! :)
ReplyDeleteYay! I hope we both enjoy it. <3
Deletethe Kylie Scott looks intriguing!
ReplyDeleteThat's what I thought (and why I chose it for this week, haha)! Have you read any of the author's other books? If not, I would suggest the Stage Dive series! <3
DeleteI read a graphic novel today and I'm reading a manga later, so I'll be able to link up next week. ๐✨
ReplyDeleteWhoop! I look forward to it! :)
DeleteAlso, what are you reading?? <3
DeleteThe ballad of YaYY: Volume One, and Infinite Darkness: Volume One. ๐✨
DeleteHmm -- don't think I've heard of those! Let me know if they're any good! :)
DeleteOh, I'm excited for Repeat too! I can't wait to read it when it hits kindle. I don't think contemporary romance will work for me on audio...
ReplyDeleteHmm -- I didn't mind the Stage Dive series on audio (Andi Arndt is one of my favorite narrators), but it depends on the narrator. I'll try it and let you know! ;)
