State of the ARC is a monthly meme hosted by Avalinah at Avalinah's Books! It's an opportunity for readers to catch up on their long overdue ARCs, but I use it to keep up with my upcoming ARCs instead. Shhh... don't tell!
Storm and Fury (The Harbinger, #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout (6/11)
There's Something About Sweetie (Dimple and Rishi, #2) by Sandhya Menon (5/14)
Descendant of the Crane by Joan He (4/9)
Saving Meghan by D.J. Palmer (4/9)
This Is Not a Love Scene by S.C. Megale (5/7)
How to Make Friends with the Dark by Kathleen Glasgow (4/9)
Every Last Breath (Final Hour, #1) by Juno Rushdan (4/30)
Please Send Help (I Hate Everyone But You, #2) by Gaby Dunn, Allison Raskin (7/16)
Girl Gone Viral by Arvin Ahmadi (5/21)
Hazel and Holly by Sara C. Snider (5/16)
The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren (5/14)
Star-Crossed by Minnie Darke (5/21)
Wilder Girls by Rory Power (7/9)
Ever Alice by H.J. Ramsay (8/1)
The highlighted books are what I plan on reading next! Ironically, they all have the same release date, so I'll have to stagger my reviews (and hopefully read them all in time). I am super thrilled with this list, and I cannot wait to read every single one of these! I think I might be looking forward to Jennifer L. Armentrout's Storm and Fury the most, but that's only because I love her other books. A lot of these authors are new to me, so I'm not sure what to expect!
Are any of these books on your TBR? Let's talk books!
I love that I see some of the same ones on here that I have to read (or just finished) as well. I hope we both love them!
ReplyDeleteGreat minds think alike! I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope they're amazing reads for us both! <3
DeleteI saw that you had three books released on the same day. I was like, "ooh, girl..." I have to review a book I should have months ago. Actually three of them... Most of the books I need to read are majorly backlisted unfortunately. I don't want to ask for another ARC unless I've read five of them. By then I'll be more than 80% on NetGalley which is the ultimate goal.
ReplyDeleteI have a few backlisted ARCs that I didn't get to. I hate when I'm approved days before a book's release date, because then I feel rushed to get it read before then. Sometimes it doesn't work out! There are other instances where I pick up a book, and I'm just not interested in the story. I try to give those a second chance later on, but it's almost always after its release date. Oh! 80%? I was really, really close at the end of last year, but I requested too many in January, haha. I need to catch back up! :)
DeleteYou have so many that I am curious about! I can’t wait to read The Unhoneymooners.
ReplyDeleteI've really enjoyed other books by Christina Lauren, and I hope the Unhoneymooners is just as good! I've only seen positive reviews so far. <3
DeleteWow so many books! I hope they're ALL winners!
ReplyDeleteMe too! I think they will be. ;)
DeleteI spy with my little eye... two new books to add to my TBR!!
ReplyDeleteYay! Always happy to help add to TBRs! <3
DeleteI have a lot on my list that have 4/9 for the publication date too. I finally finished reading the last one today so now I just have to write all of the reviews. I hope you enjoy all of these. :)
ReplyDeleteLucky you! It's only the second day of April, and I'm already behind, haha. March was a busy review month for me, too. I don't have a lot going on in May, so I think that's when I'll play catch up. I'm glad you were able to squeeze all of yours in!
DeleteEver Alice and Star-Crossed are both on my TBR - can't wait to hear your thoughts!
ReplyDeleteI won a copy of Star-Crossed, and I'm really excited to start it! It was new to me until I entered the giveaway. :)
DeleteI have The Unhoneymooners coming up soon as well. It always seems like a lot of books are released on certain days. I hope you enjoy all of these.
ReplyDeleteI wish they were more staggered! Alas, they usually pop up on the same day, haha. Maybe it helps with publicity? I have no idea! I do see it happen at the start of the month, though. I hope we both The Unhoneymooners!
DeleteThe Unhoneymooners is on my list too. I am looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteSame! I've really enjoyed past Christina Lauren books that I've read. Josh and Hazel, Autoboyography -- wonderful reads! :)
DeleteStorm and Fury and The UnHoneymooners are two that are so high on my list! I'll probably start The UnHoneymooners soon since it releases next month. Storm and Fury will have to wait just a little longer. Gah!
ReplyDeleteI know!! I really want to read JLA's newest, but I try to read books within a month of their release date, and that means I have to wait. I guess I could read it, write a review, and then just hold off on posting it... but that's so hard! I always want to shout my thoughts out, haha.
DeleteSome of those look interesting. I have a few books on my Kindle right now and hope to get to them soon.
ReplyDeleteI haven't looked at the unread books on my Kindle in ages! I'm scared of what I'll find, haha. I buy books when they're on sale, and when they're free, so I know they've accumulated over time.
DeleteHow To Make Friends With The Dark looks freaky, and Wilder Girls looks awesome too!
ReplyDeleteI'm really excited about both! I love the cover for Wilder Girls -- it's hard to look away from! :)
Deleteoh I'm excited about Storm and Fury, Descendant of the Crane and Wilder Girls (I GOT THAT ARC to!) Can't wait to read them! Hope they are GOOD! :)
ReplyDeleteI feel like I saw you mention Wilder Girls on your blog recently! I hope we both love it! Storm and Fury is one of my most anticipated reads -- love JLA!
DeleteI just got an eARC of HOw To Make Friends With the Dark and it sounds ....dark. We’ll see!
ReplyDeleteI hope it's dark in the best possible way! Like you said, we'll see! I was planning on starting it next. Hopefully I can read them all in time!
DeleteAHHHH So many of my most anticipated reads! I can't wait for How To Make Friends With The Dark. I absolutely loved Girl In Pieces, it was something that has still stayed with me to this day. Thee's Something About Sweetie is another one, they're always fun, feel great reads aren't they. Are you on the tour for This Is Not A Love Scene? I had an invite from the US publisher and it sounded pretty good so I have an eARC for that one. So many incredible reads Linds, I'll be hanging around like a bad smell to see what you thought of them now.
ReplyDeleteHTMFWTD will be my first book by the author, but now I want to check out Girl In Pieces! I love books that stay with you long after you've read them. Have you read Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma? That book gave me chills! It's also the only book I've ever thrown across a room, haha. It elicited such strong emotions from me, and the writing is breathtaking. Tough topic, but I know you don't avoid those. :)
DeleteYes! I am on the tour for This Is Not A Love Scene! I'm so happy the publisher reached out to you! I hope we both love it. Haha, you're not a bad smell, but you can definitely hang around. You know I love hearing your thoughts. <3
I have Wilder Girls and I really am curious about the Armentrout book since it features Gargoyles. I wish you luck with all the new releases!
ReplyDeleteDid you watch the Gargoyles cartoon? It's something I remember enjoying from my childhood, haha. They were scary, but awesome! I cannot wait to see what JLA does with hers. :)
DeleteSo behind on what my favorite authors have coming out. Love Jennifer Armentrout. Been awhile since I read anything by her. Enjoy your books.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I adore JLA and cannot wait to read Storm and Fury! I also want to re-read the Lux series. :)
DeleteI would love to re-read Lux series as well. I still have not read the last book shame on me.
DeleteHaha! It's been YEARS since I've read it, but I do remember being mostly satisfied with the ending. :)
