This week's topic: Favorite Bookmarks
I don't know if it's obvious based on the name of my blog, but I do dog-ear most of my books! Whenever I get a new bookmark, it usually finds a permanent home in whatever book I'm currently reading. For this TTT, I had to flip through dozens of books to see what fell out!
- I have no idea where the Keep Calm and Read On bookmark came from, but the tassel made it easy to find!
- The magnetic unicorn is part of a set gifted to me by the lovely Karen from For What It's Worth. I'm currently using a grumpy cat with a unicorn horn in my copy of Sapphire Flames by Ilona Andrews. I started it earlier and it's fantastic!
- This is a quote from V.E. Schwab's A Darker Shade of Magic series, and it was gifted to me by my #otspsecretsister, whom I fondly refer to as my White Rabbit.
- Yep. That's a thank-you card! I really liked the image of the ice cream on the front, so it sadly never fulfilled it's purpose as a card. However, it does make a delicious, hungry-making bookmark. I always feel happy when I look at it!
- The final bookmark came with my copy of Graveminder by Melissa Marr. I've always liked how unique it is! I think it's supposed to be a body tag, or whatever those things are called. Toe tag?
Well, those were the only bookmarks I could find! I'm sure there are others, but I love the idea of randomly stumbling across them in the future.
I have a keep calm bookmark too, except mine is Keep Calm I'm the Doctor. :)
ReplyDeleteAre you really a doctor? If you are, that's awesome. If you're not, I feel like that makes your bookmark even more amazing, haha. ;)
DeleteNice bookmarks. http://pmprescott.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
DeleteCaticorn for the win! My daughter bought me a few magnetic bookmarks similar to that one. My favorite is the baby sloth on the mama sloth's back.
ReplyDeleteHah! I had no idea it was called a caticorn. I have a llamacorn/llamicorn plant holder that I absolutely adore. <3 I love the sound of the sloth bookmark! I think I have a narwhal and something else... the kids started using them, so there's no telling where they are! ;)
DeleteThat keep calm and read bookmark is very cool.
ReplyDeleteMy TTT.
Thanks! I like how easy it was to find! ;)
DeleteI love the Keep Calm bookmark!
ReplyDeleteI really wish I knew where it came from! A bookish event maybe? I think I got it in Austin when JLA did her event a year or two ago. Hmm.
DeleteKeep Calm and the thank you card w/ ice cream are both awesome. :)
ReplyDeleteI think the thank-you card might be my favorite! It's just yummy to look at, haha.
DeleteThat Grumpy Cat unicorn bookmark is just too stinking cute! That toe tag bookmark is so unique, though! That's really cool that it came with that book.
ReplyDeleteHere's my TTT post.
Haha! I'm sure the grumpy caticorn would disagree. ;) It does bring me joy whenever I open a book and see his frowning, magical face. <3 As for the toe tag, there's interesting information printed on both sides! I think the picture's too small to see clearly, but someone really nailed the details.
DeleteI have bookmarks all over. I finally made a box that I keep most of them in, but still. I like that your books kind of hold on to the bookmarks. LOL Love the V.E. Schwab one, and the toe tag! That is unique.

I used to store bookmarks in an old shoebox, but eventually gave them away in giveaways. I never used them, so I thought other people might show them some more love! Now I wish I'd held on to a few, but I know I wouldn't have used them. I tend to lose them after awhile! ;)
DeleteI have a huge bookmark collection. Some are signed. I think I have about 2000 of them at this point. Most of them are in a box to keep them safe but I have a few floating around out where I can find them.
ReplyDeleteWow! That's an impressive bookmark stash, Mary. I have a few signed bookmarks, but they stay in whatever books they belong to.
DeleteI have several magnetic bookmarks and love them. It’s like, where have you been all my life? Why did it take so long for someone to come up with those? :)
ReplyDeleteYes! They don't fall out when my children take off running with one of my books, haha. However, once they actually see the bookmark, they're little fingers cannot resist taking it for themselves. <3
DeleteI have a lot of beautiful bookmarks, but I usually end up using a post-it note, or a tissue. ๐
ReplyDeleteI love the magnetic Grumpy Cat unicorn! ๐
I'll use whatever's around when I need to put a book down, but dog-earing saves time and paper. ;)
DeleteThose bookmarks look so cool! My favourite bookmark is the one that I CAN FIND. Lol. I could never seem to find one.
ReplyDeleteJust dog-ear them like me! Then you'll always be able to find what you need. ;)
DeleteMy move to the almighty Kindle means that physical bookmarks are obsolete for me, although I did pick up a few at RARE19 for those lovely paperbacks that I got signed. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI prefer physical copies to ebooks! There's just something about holding a book in your hand and smelling the pages... ahh. It's bliss. ;) I use the Kindle app on my iPad for ARCs, but that's about it.
