This post took longer than normal, because there have been soooo many date changes due to the coronavirus. I think I've listed them all correctly (and in order of their release date), but there's still a chance some of these can be pushed back.
I got rejected on both NG and EW for Breath Like Water, so I will eagerly be awaiting your thoughts. It sounds really fantastic.
ReplyDeleteBoo! I'm sorry to hear that, Sam! I think you said something similar last month, and it makes me wish it was something I could share. :( It DOES sound fantastic! I'll likely start it this week.
DeleteIt has been tough to keep track of all the date changes for sure! I'm down to only two more ARC's to read right now and it feels amazing! I think they've halted on sending some copies due to the virus, so this has allowed me to catch up a bit.
ReplyDeleteLucky! I was approved or received a lot of these prior to the virus, so I'm trying to use this extra time to catch up. I've already read several that won't be released until later this year, so I finally feel like I'm getting ahead again! It's been hard since the move, and now with everything else going on, to feel like I'm on top of my TBR pile. However, comics are in a similar sticky place, and since they haven't released anything new either, I've been able to catch up on all of those as well. I'm trying to look on the bright side! ;)
DeleteYou've got a couple up there that I'm looking forward to, so I can't wait to hear your thoughts - Real Men Knit, Chasing Lucky, and the Jane Austen Society!
ReplyDeleteI know Karen has started Real Men Knit, and it's one I'm really looking forward to as well! She couldn't tell me anything about it when I asked, since she'd barely made any progress. Thanks for unintentionally reminding me to ask her again! ;) She and I also did a Buddy Read for Chasing Lucky, and I wasn't thrilled with it. Jenn Bennett is my JAM, but I struggled with the main character. :(
DeleteYou have so many interesting titles here, I may have to wander over to NetGalley. I promise this time I won't blame you directly, lol. Premeditated Myrtle looks good, is it a series that has to be read in order? Also, I Killed Zoe Spanos and Admission.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Premeditated Myrtle needs to be read in order! At least I hope not, since I haven't read the other(s), haha. I was going to start Admission this week, but it's release date was pushed back. I Killed Zoe Spanos is going to be published on my birthday, so that's exciting. ;)
DeleteBreath Like Water has a cool cover. Migrations looks good.
ReplyDeleteLove the cover of Head Over Heels too.
I L-O-V-E the cover for Breath Like Water! I thought Migrations was going to be something TOTALLY different when I requested it (my fault for not fully reading the synopsis), but the blurb has really piqued my interest. :)
DeleteI see Mary Kay Andrews book everywhere but have never read her. Her backlist is staggering so it's a bit intimidating. I've heard good things about Kristan Higgins but haven't read her yet, either. I didn't know Mike Birbiglia had a book! He is so funny so I bet his book is full of laughs. Head Over Heels is already on my TBR. I'm excited for that one.
ReplyDeleteThis will be my first Mary Kay Andrews book, if I can get through it! It's a BEAST! Hello, Summer is nearly 500 pages. I'm a little worried since other reviewers say a lot of those pages are unnecessary, so we'll see how it goes. This will be my first Krisan Higgins book, too. ;) Yes! Jacob was the one that asked me to enter a giveaway for his book, and I'm so happy I did! I really loved what I read when I skimmed it (something I do when new books arrive). <3
DeleteIt has 558 pages! I wanted to double check after responding to your comment. :)
DeleteWow, 558 pages is pretty chunky for a contemporary romance. Hopefully you'll be so into the story that you'll fly through it and it won't feel longer than necessary.
DeleteIt wasn't a contemporary romance! *sobs* It was a murder mystery. The cover and blurb deceived me, Tanya. It was an enjoyable murder mystery, just not what I was expecting or wanting.
DeleteI've heard Deal with the Devil is really good!
ReplyDeleteYes! That's what I like to hear! How can you go wrong with mercenary librarians??? ;)
DeleteGreat plan! I've got mine listed out in my planner on a special page for each month, and I've even started just adding them onto a date for a review on the calendar pages so I have in mind I have to read it. AND...I have another page for each month where I list what days I need to be finished with what books and I try to put them on there 7 days before I have a blog tour post or a review planned. For the most part it works. :-)
ReplyDeleteI tried using a planner at first, but it would always get too crowded! I have bad handwriting as it is, so that just added to messiness. This method has proven the most effective, because I just bookmark this post every month and refer to it as needed. :) I'm happy you've found something that works for you!
DeleteI'm so excited for Deal with the Devil - it sounds awesome!
ReplyDeleteI know!!! Mercenary librarians?? Count me in! ;)
DeleteIt looks like you have a lot of exciting new ARCS to look forward to! I have Breath Like Water, and More Than Maybe for review also, and am excited to read them. I requested Chasing Lucky, but got turned down on Netgalley, so I'm looking forward to reading reviews on it. I organize all of my ARCS by putting all of the due dates on my bookworm planner, and I also have them written in the notepad on my cell phone. Happy Reading Lindsi :)
ReplyDeleteLindy@ A Bookish Escape
I am REALLY looking forward to Breath Like Water and More Than Maybe, so I hope we both love them. <3 Chasing Lucky hasn't been my favorite Bennett book so far, and I'm actually tempted to DNF it. I've tried using a planner, but the number of books combined with my handwriting... it's a bad combination, haha.
DeleteI'm currently wondering if I should grab The Jane Austen Society myself.
ReplyDeleteI hope it's as good as it sounds! :) You'll have to let me know if you decide to read it.
DeleteLots of great ARCs here! This is a perfect way to keep track of them. I've been keeping up a spreadsheet with mine.
ReplyDeleteNicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction
I thought about a spreadsheet, but decided to turn it into a post instead! I really love the concept behind State of the ARC, and cannot wait to catch up on my upcoming reads so I can use the feature as it was intended. ;) This is working for me now, and it also lets people know which books are going to be released soon! It's a win-win. <3
DeleteI'm super curious about Real Men Knit. ๐✨
ReplyDeleteI was too... but I've heard it's not so great... :(
DeleteI have an ARC of Chasing lucky too! I put off reading it when it's release date slipped.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping to finish American Demon this week and get it returned to you. So far, I'm loving it!
I know this is really late, but I'm happy you enjoyed American Demon! I started Chasing Lucky, but I've been slogging through it.
